How is “Pure Water Window Cleaning” different?

“Pure Water Window Cleaning” does not use any soaps to break up the dirt on your windows. Ultra-pure water, which has a TDS (total-dissolved-solids) reading of 0 (zero) is “created” on-site and used to dissolve and rinse away the dirt on your windows and frames.
We use the term “created” because water with a TDS reading of 0 does not exist in nature. “Ultra-Pure Water” is aggressive when it comes to removing dirt, because it chemically seeks out dirt to bond with, as water wants to return to it’s naturally dirty state. However, it is completely environmentally safe!
Tucson’s water has a TDS range from around 300-500 (which is considered very hard, but not as bad as the 1000 range in Las Vegas). Thus a multi-stage purification system is needed. Streakless Windows uses a 5-stage purification system to purify water, which is then pumped up a Water-Fed-Pole through a small hose to the brush, which scrubs the windows and frames. After agitating all of the dirt with the brush, the dirt that was on the window, having been chemically bonded to the pure water, is rinsed away.

You will notice that the windows are not squeegeed after being cleaned. Fret not, although you will see water drops on the glass outside, THEY WILL DRY SPOTLESS!

How is this better than cleaning with soap and a squeegee?

1. Any cleaning done with soap of any kind leaves a small amount of residue on the glass, even though it may not be visible to the naked eye, it will allow dirt and dust a surface to cling to. “Pure Water Window Cleaning” therefore keeps your windows cleaner, longer!

2. Water-fed Poles allow us to clean all of the exterior frames in addition to the glass, which means there will be much less dirt nearby the windows. So, if/when it rains shortly after you’ve had the windows cleaned you may be pleasantly surprised to see your windows will be virtually spotless.

3. In general this is much safer as the window cleaner will not have to climb ladders or walk on roofs to reach the exterior windows. Imagine never having to have anyone walk on your Spanish tile roof and risk any possible damage again.

Will I have to pay more for “Pure Water Window Cleaning”?

“Are you crazy? A guarantee like that is just going to draw every cheap bum who wants something for nothing”, I’ve been told. “Ha, ha, ha, fool!”, laugh the other window cleaners in Tucson. But to all of that skepticism I say, “Are we professionals or aren’t we?”.

If you get your windows cleaned by another window cleaning company and aren’t satisfied, what are they going to do? Tell you, “Too bad, we did the work so we’re keeping the money”? Not likely, but possibly. Most any company that wants to be in business tomorrow isn’t looking to cheat people, at least not to their faces. But, unfortunately there are companies that don’t really care about their customers. I know, because I too am a customer of many companies out there, and I am with you on being disgusted at the low quality of workmanship and worse yet, the character of those expected to be in charge and expected to CARE. I won’t name any names here, but I was in a restaurant the other day and an employee in the back was moving freshly cooked biscuits without gloves on. The man who was standing at the counter next to me was apparently waiting for a sandwich that was going to be made on one of those biscuits. Sure enough, the lady making the sandwich reached over and grabbed a biscuit that had just been moved from the oven to the warming trays by the other employee without gloves. So after he was handed his biscuit sandwich he told the lady at the register that he wanted a new sandwich made from a biscuit that was untouched by the gloveless employee. The woman at the register seemed irritated and began to argue that the gloveless employee wasn’t the one making the sandwich. Long story, short: They remade the man’s sandwich and before he left he asked the argumentative woman to get the manager so he could speak to them about the issue… and you probably already guessed it, this argumentative woman, who felt there was nothing wrong with the gloveless employee handling the biscuits, was indeed the manager!

What is the point here? People running businesses too often don’t care about your feelings and needs. This is why the “so-called competition” laugh at Streakless Windows Inc.’s Industry-leading Guarantee. They don’t care that you don’t want to have to worry if you’re going to get great service. But we do, and that’s why we don’t just offer a “100% Satisfaction Guarantee” like other companies, because all that really means is, “If we don’t do a great job and WE GET CAUGHT we’ll come back and try to fix it because we’re not refunding any of the money we got paid already anyway”. Isn’t that the type of guarantee that every company is giving whether it’s expressed or not? Then there’s the companies that offer a “Money-back guarantee”. But that means you already had to pay them, and so then you’re left worrying if you’re actually going to get the money back or if they’ll just go out of business and keep your money, or how long it will take to get your money back, 1 week, 30 days, 90 days? C’mon, we’re all adults here and we all work hard for the money we get, so let’s stop playing games with our customers’ expectations and money, and instead find out what their needs and expectations are and then OVER-DELIVER on those expectations. At least that’s what Streakless Windows believes it means to be a professional service company. Perhaps the competition doesn’t realize what SERVICE means.

FREEZE, put down the garden hose and no more windows will have to get hurt!

For some reason it doesn’t appear to be common knowledge that the water in Arizona is what is called “hard water”, and that spraying “hard water” onto glass and allowing it to dry there causes damage to the glass. Perhaps it’s just because windows look flat and water appears to run down the glass that home-owners and often even other uneducated trade workers like painters, landscapers, flooring installers, roofers, etc. will all try to wash away their “oopsies” from off the window with a garden hose (and a scraper, but that’s another story). But the facts are that windows, and all glass for that matter, are not actually flat. Microscopically the glass has many peaks and valleys, pits and crevices. Water may run over these microscopic features of the glass, but believe me it leaves a footprint, a large one. If you’ve ever been to Kartchner Caverns you know what running water can do over time. All those stalagmites, stalactites, soda straws, cave bacon, and even the Kubla Khan were made by mineral deposits left behind from running water.

Can water from your garden hose or sprinklers do that to your windows? Actually yes, although it doesn’t look that amazing. Unfortunately it’s actually quite irritating when your windows become damaged by mineral build-up from hard water. While magnesium and other elements are also to blame the main element that causes this problem is calcium, hence why it is often referred to as “calcium stain” and why most window cleaning companies who, like Streakless Windows, offer to rid your windows of this damage when possible, refer to this type of window restoration service as “Calcium Removal”.

“Did you say window restoration?”, you may ask. Yes, sadly the minerals actually corrode the glass surface and it needs to be restored. Chemicals can be used to remove stage 1 corrosion, but will not remove stage 2 corrosion. Up until recently stage 2 corrosion was thought to be the final straw for the poor damaged window before it moves out of your house and into the landfill. But with the use of grinders and soft abrasive pads designed for hard-water stain and graffiti-removal from glass, stage 2 corrosion can also be removed in most cases now and the glass can be polished to look as good as new.
